Your Presentation of this character is very Impressive! This should be new standard of Character Presentation (style of thread post). So Amazing!!! Every New Character Should have a Intro Post like this and made a Sticky Thread, That should help make this place grow and attract new people if they can see a well organized , creative , active , Friendly MK atmosphere where people can come together and create awesome new stuff for MKP. Once again This is Very Kool and I cannot wait to go play with monk right after i post this LOL.  Thanks again for all the work on this character guys!

Que groso, Sanna.... hace rato que no hay un char original bien hecho (y que no sea un clon ninja), y obviamente mas de uno piensa que tiene que ver con el Gran Kung Lao.

Aunque si se le puede poner pelo, tendriamos un Young Shujinko

Thanks., I'm glad you liked how it resulted.

Just Remember everybody... this was a colaborative work, not 100% made by me (Bushman, Lows and HanzoHasashi worked in Sang too). It's awesome because various people worked together making it.

I prefer the old version. I appreciate that you wanted to improve the character, but... there's a problem with the long kombo, i can't perform it further than the BL button. The rest of the kombo is nowhere to be found, lol. And also, why'd you take the thunder state attack off? O_o Plus, portraits look weird. They look as if he was blind or smth.

I have mentioned it once in Lows thread, I had a concept of a new shaolin monk character for my project, based on Meditating/Fast Monk from MKM.

(the monk in white pants and orange robe from here)


Ideally the sprites could be done by rescaling/fixing MKM sprites and adding the missing animations. But since Lows recreated part of special move animations from that monk for the one posted in this thread, I now doubt that anyone will be willing to work on original MKM monk sprites.

Maybe there are ways to enhance the existing costume of monk by lows. Kung Lao MK2 legs are a problem since too many characters use them, it would be good to mask them by adding a different cloth hanging from belt (say, Raiden MK2's "apron"), and the white shirt from Baraka can be given separate color (the same way Borg edited Raiden sprites to make previously white parts recolorable).

The end result then could use main palette with orange shirt/apron, and white pants, which would be pretty close to MKM version. Or maybe someone has better ideas on enhancing the costume.

Also... lots of mugen sites have presentations like this one (most of them even worst, with just the gif of the stand and a link). and most of them doesn't have a video or screenshots. but year, we are in a forum, not in a mugen webpage, so maybe the format was not the best... but you should consider that this image was designed for facebook and deviantart posting, so is tottaly accurate, at least for the original media of difussion it was designed. About the pants... not "a lot of characters", it depends on your own MK roster, Drax. The only character i have with similar pants is Jarek. And i'm not using any character with mk2 liukangs body. so it looks pretty originla in my roster. ^^

In the other hand, if someone is interested in changing the sprites. it's okey... an updated version would make him look more like a tottally new character. I agree on that. These spriteset and the ones from draming where made by the same guy (Lows). If he or someone else want to update them. Is tottally okey, and wil be even better if the updated sprites got shared in the same way this char and their sprites where shared. ^^

Actually this is not just MKM Monk. Is Sang (a character from MK Malibu comics). ^^
I think diferent here. Great KungLao sounds like a mix of kung lao and Liu Kang, and even looking like a new char, it will be just a boring character. And Borg's Shang tsung already have a G.KungLao Morph fatality, so having him playable will take a lot of epicness to that character to me, and will make tsung's fatality less epic.

the backstory was in a blocknote in the character's folder, explaining everything:

This character contains 2 DEF Files.

Sang.def
-Is the normal version of the character.
-This version is balanced, unique and fun to play.
-Doesn't perform the "Flying Kick" (from Liu Kang),
-Doesn't Perform the "Dive Kick" (from Kung Lao),
-Doesn't perform the "Thunder State" move.

Sang_alt.def
-Is the extended and "BROKEN" version of the character.
-It can perform the "Flying Kick", "Dive Kick" and the "Thunder State" moves.  The character is very powerfull with these moves in comparision with any other MKP character. Is not recomended. since the moveset is not balanced at all.

About Sang...
-Sang is a Semi-Oficial character of Mortal Kombat Malibu Comics.
He makes his first appearance as Sang in Mortal Kombat Blood and Thunder #1, with his twin brother Sing.
-One of his habilities is the fusion with his twin brother Sing to create "Siang", the greatest warrior of the Order of Light.
-It is said in the comic book that individually Sing and Sang possess exceptional skill and strength, but with their abilities to merge into a single body, their abilities double.
-In face of Siang, he tried to defeat Goro but was killed by him (In the First Mortal Kombat Events).

About Sang in MKP Universe...
-The death of Siang wasn't the end of Sang... in his last moments, the brothers defused in two separate beings again... while Sang resulted severely wounded, Sing emerged as a dead body. WIthout other alternative, Sang scaped from the island to heal his wounds and reunite with the warriors of the light.
-Now... fully restored, Sang is in the fight again, not only to save Earthrealm from the Emperor, but also searching for the corpse of his dead twin in the island, and the Outworld.

Posible MKP Ending...
-Sang fighted against the Emperor forces with no rest or mercy, One by one the Outworld generals and Shao Kahn itself died upon the Order of Light Warrior hands. But the battle was far from ending. Sang found the body of his dead twin standing in front of him, animated again, covered in never drying blood, merged with bodyparts of other warriors and immersed in a murderous rage improper of him. Sang discover the ShangTsung's Fleshpits
and his most horrendous creature, Meat.

UPDATE 2 (Mar. 15, 2016):
-Fixed some combo bugs. They're easier to do now.
-Changed the Teleport special moves. Now the "Static teleport " make Sang appear 75 pixels in front of him. If you hold "Forward" while doing the teleport move, he'll appear before the enemy's back.

-Fixed the Budda Ball Special move.. now it can be reversed by Motaro.
-New Animality (No More Liu's DragonForm) (Simple but new, i didn't wan't to mess a lot, if someone want to make it more complex, is free to do it) (Thanks Lows90 for the sprites and anims)
-Some AI modifications, now Sang uses less Special moves and is a little less rusher/spammer, making him easier to defeat than older versions (is still challenging, just not a rusher).
